What is a zero point positioning system?
A zero point positioning system is a set of receivers and matching pallets (or sub-plates, vises, towers) that all locate to the same datums. You machine a part, remove the pallet, and any other machine fitted with the same receiver picks it up at the identical position — no re-indicating, no loss of accuracy between setups.
How repeatable is zero-point location?
JIYAN zero-point receivers locate within a few microns, so a part staged off the machine returns to the same position on the mill, 5-axis or tombstone. That repeatability is what lets you spread work across machines and shifts without re-qualifying.
Can a zero-point system be used for 5-axis machining?
